We had an amazing stay at the cabin and plan on booking again soon. The cabin was perfect for our family and provided everything we needed for a memorable stay. Between ice fishing, snow tubing, playing games and relaxing by the fire, this place did not disappoint. Can’t wait to come back and visit:)

Our stay at the cabin was exactly what my family needed. We especially loved the location right on the reservoir! The kitchen was very well stocked and met all of my family’s needs. We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Our stay at the cabin was lovely, we went in the summer with our eyes set on fishing. I had a cup of coffee each morning and cast my pole out from the private dock. Exactly what I was hoping for, very peaceful. I would definitely like to come back. Just a heads up to any other fisherman reading this, there's a lot of moss near the dock so I'd recommend using a bobber so your hook isn't dragging on the bottom or some sort of top water lure. Thanks again, Kirk!

It isn't easy to find a private dock attached to a cabin property, right on the water. If you fish, try trolling with pop gear leading a worm (perhaps capped with a marshmallow). The water by the cabin is full of chub, so try closer to the island if chasing trout. It was such a hit with the kids that the last night we were there the bedtime prayer by our oldest went something like this: "Please bless us to not be too sad about it being over." The surface water was between 69.5 and 70.5 degrees, and the high air temp was about 80 in July.

First, the Scofield Cabin is a slice of heaven with respect to views of the reservoir and snow capped mountains. During our stay we had a lot of PM thunderstorms moved through, and it was cozy to look at the inclement weather from inside the cabin with a fire going and hot toddy. That said, we never felt cramped for space or experienced cabin fever. Kirk had the cabin well provisioned, with all the cooking wear to prepare meals. We brought our Keurig because we like k-cups vs drip coffee which was there. Since we like to fish, we brought our kayaks and were on water every day between storms. Because of the size restrictions (slot requires releasing any cutthroat and tiger trout between 15-22") it was hard to let those 20" ones go. As in other reviews, Kirk was a great host and responded very fast to inquires before and during our stay. Also the floating dock was a plus, and yes, you can catch fish from it.

Great stay. The cabin is so cozy. Lots of space for cooking with larger parties as well which is nice. The views of the reservoir are amazing- we were lucky to get a few thunderstorms that we were able to watch from the porch in the evenings. The reservoir had an algae bloom back in July that made the water a bit murky- we avoided swimming just to be safe, but my friends and I were still able to paddle board. It looked like a lot of people were still using the lake for boating, sailing and jet-skis. Overall this is such a great location- We would stay again!

Our family spent the holiday at Kirk's and we are so happy we got to stay. The cabin is clean and spacious. We had toddlers and they also loved exploring. We visited during a large snow storm and got to enjoy the snow outside. It was a magical Christmas. Kirk was very good at communicating with us to help us safely get to the cabin and help us get out. We spent a lot of time playing board games and having fun together. We'd love to go back and see it during the summer too! Recommend highly.
